One of the oldest, most diverse and sparsely populated landscapes in the world, Western Australia is the biggest state in Australia. Covering 2.5 million square kilometres it is shared by a population of 2.8 million. That is almost one-third the size of the USA or all of Western Europe! So, if you like your own space, there’s plenty of it to go around.

Each region and town has its own character. You can ride a camel at sunset on Cable Beach or surf big-wave breaks at Margaret River. Bask on the whitest sand beach with a kangaroo at Lucky Bay and hand-feed wild dolphins at Monkey Mia. And swim with whale sharks at the planet’s largest fringing coral reef, Ningaloo.
