Nonna’s Pizzeria & Cucina – South Fremantle

For some of the best Italian cuisine Perth has to offer, Nonna’s Pizzeria & Cucina is a must-visit! This family-owned and operated restaurant in trendy South Fremantle promises an authentic dining experience that’ll keep you coming back for more. With a chef from Rome and waitstaff from Italy, the dining experience will transport you to the heart of regional Italy, offering authentic flavours and warm hospitality.

Their menu features modern and traditional Italian small dishes like Meatballs, Vitello Tonnato, Antipasto and Pasta Fritta, along with a range of large plates of Pasta, Spatchcock, Pulled Lamb and Porchetta. And of course amazing pizza! To top it all off, we reckon Nonna’s do one of the best tiramisu in Perth. With a good hit of coffee and rich creamy mascarpone (not just cream) this classic Italian dessert was a winner! Perfect for a romantic dinner, a family get-together, or just a fantastic meal, Nonna’s even has a cosy wood fire for dining fireside on a cool Perth night.


Maruzzella Restaurant & Pizzeria – East Perth

Maruzzella is the kind of classic trattoria you dream of having just around the corner. This family-owned gem has been serving up authentic and mouthwatering Southern Italian dishes since 2015, making it a local favourite. The menu features 27 types of Napoli-style pizzas along with Italian classics like Arancini, Nonna’s Meatballs, Chicken Saltimbocca, Calamari Fritti, and a wide selection of housemade pasta.

We love Maruzzella for its rustic Italian fare, and you’ll even find some rare dishes like Baccalà alla Calabrese (salted cod) and their famous Calonzi Fritti—a folded baby pizza filled with tomato sauce, leg ham, basil, buffalo mozzarella, fried, and topped with shaved parmesan (carb lovers rejoice!). With tasty, affordable wines, a great cocktail list, friendly staff, and a cozy atmosphere, Maruzzella is a must-visit for an authentic Italian experience right here in Perth. Posto Matto – Osborne Park

This hidden gem is the epitome of an Italian family restaurant. Located on Main Street in Osborne Park, Posto Matto is a busy local trattoria plating up top-quality Italian dishes that are generous and delicious. Bringing simple Italian cooking to life, their menu offers homely Italian cuisine with a selection of stuzzichini (entrees), pasta, mains, pizza, sides and dolce (dessert).

Their selection of freshly made pasta is incredible – without a doubt the lasagne is one of the best we’ve had in Perth. And what sets Posto Matto’s pizza apart is that they’re cooked in a wood-fired oven giving them that distinct flavour – in the true traditional of Neapolitan pizza. With fantastic food, friendly service, and a warm family atmosphere, Posto Matto is a great casual eatery for a delicious meal in Perth. Molto bene!!


Maestro Sourdough Pizza – North Beach

This award-winning Italian neighbourhood restaurant in North Beach is pumping out some pretty epic Neapolitan-style pizza. The owner and chef Andrea, originates from Umbria in Italy and his restaurant has won a place in the TOP 50 guide of the best pizzerias in the world (Asia Pacific) in 2021, 2023 and 2024. While known for their pizza, their menu also features a great range of appetisers, salads, pastas and desserts, and whatever you order from Maestro it is going to be damn good. 

Now, don’t be put off by this restaurant’s humble external appearance – just like in Italy, the magic is inside. Dining-in is definitely a ‘From Italy – With Love’ experience with a friendly atmosphere and warm service. Plus we love that Maestro is BYO, so you can bring a bottle of wine to accompany your meal.


Catalano Family Kitchen – Highgate

For hearty and generous Italian food, this fabulous restaurant is located on the busy Beaufort Street strip. The brainchild of a passionate foodie couple with a long history in the Perth hospitality scene, Catalano Family Kitchen draws on old family recipes that the Catalano name has been known for. With a large menu of well-priced Italian classics, there’s plenty to choose from.

Enjoy one of almost 20 pasta dishes like their Lasagna made from a traditional recipe passed down 3 generations, Nonna’s Meatball Pasta or Alla Vodka Fettuccine. For a more substantial meal, you can’t do better than their Veal Parmigiana (make sure you come hungry!!) or Chicken Scallopini topped with your choice of four sauces (Boscaiola, Marsala, Pizzaiola or Garlic). As long-time fans of the Catalano family’s food, we wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant!


Ciao Italia – South Perth

The moment you set foot into the doors of Ciao Italia, you immediately feel like you’ve walked into Italy! The melodious Italian tarantella music, Italian waiters shouting across the room, patrons tapping their feet to the music, checkered table cloth, terracotta walls, the aroma of garlic, and Italian knick knacks on the walls are all part of the charm in this cosy family restaurant. 

Serving authentic italian food since 1999, the reputation of its generous-sized pasta, mains and delicious woodfired pizzas goes without saying if you see the lines waiting to get a table any night of the week. And don’t miss their huge slab of tiramisu or if you’re not in the mood for coffee, the Hazelnut tiramisu. Open every night (except Tuesday) from 5pm for walk-ins only!!


Bar Cicchetti – Hillarys

Located on the ground floor of the Hillarys Beach Club in Perth’s northern suburbs, Bar Cicchettis offers all-day modern Italian-inspired dining right beside the beach. Savour simple and delicious Italian fare in a luxe contemporary dining room or outdoors under a bright tangerine umbrellas in the casual alfresco space.

The menu features small and large plates (designed to be shared), pasta dishes, pizza, and a great range of Antipasti. Must try’s are the Rigatoni alla vodka with spicy n’duja and stracciatella, and Chicken Milanese. All meals are complemented by a wonderful list of Italian wines, or for the quintessential Italian aperitivo experience, enjoy an Aperol Spritz or Peach Bellini! Open daily for breakfast from 8:00am, and lunch and dinner from 11:30am to late.


La Fattoria – Perth Hills

Good friends enjoying great food. That’s very much the heart behind La Fattoria where food and wine is a family affair, and part of Italian culture and tradition. Located in the Perth Hills on a 25-acre orchard, this trattoria is a family-run establishment without an al la carte menu. Instead you can enjoy a set course menu of seasonal dishes shared at the table – typical of an Italian family meal. 

“Nonna’s Table” is a four-course [five-course on weekends] Silicilan-inspired menu available from Thursday to Sunday only. It’s rustic, takes about 3-4 hours, and is driven by driven by homegrown or locally sourced seasonal produce. Dine alfresco on the deck overlooking lush lawns, vines, and the orchard, enjoy the pre-meal wine tasting of La Fattoria’s wine and sit back and relax with your family and friends. Ischia – Perth & Mt Lawley

Ischia Ristorante specialises in authentic dishes from the picturesque island of Ischia in the Gulf of Naples. For groups or celebrations, opt for their extra-large pizzas, available in sizes of 60cm, 120cm, and a whopping 180cm, perfect for sharing. With two locations – in Perth and Mt Lawley, you’d better book ahead, because the food is that good!

This much-loved Italian restaurant in Perth specialises in housemade pappardelle topped with yummy sauces inspired by dishes from all over the world. It’s one of the go-to places in Perth for pasta.

This neighbourhood gem has had a meteoric rise with 3 venues now pumping out some pretty incredible Italian food. Specialising in authentic Napoletana-style hand-stretched pizza with over 15 varieties on their menu, you’ll also find some great antipasti dishes like Arancini, Caprese Salad and Carpaccio. Along with their famous Golden Fried Burrata and the unique Gnocci Pizza, there’s scrumptious pasta options and delicious desserts. Don’t miss the Magic Nutella dessert –  a nutella and custard calzone sprinkled with pistachio. YUM!! All venues are BYO for dine-in so you can enjoy a great value Italian meal!


Trattoria Ilaria – North Perth

Located in Angove Street, North Perth Trattoria Ilaria is an Italian eatery serving up some scrumptious food. With checked red and white tablecloths, beautiful murals on the walls, handmade pasta and Italian-speaking wait staff this Perth gem will transport your taste buds straight to Italy. With a menu featuring traditional Italian dishes, fresh seafood, and ingredients, sourced from local Italian families in Perth, it’s a must-visit for Italian food lovers. It’s BYO if you dine in on Sunday to Thursday and kids eat free!
